I’ve been blessed with some really amazing reviews lately, but I’ve been so busy I haven’t had the chance to share, and to say thank you!
Reviews of What Lies Behind:
“An enchanting novel about families, love, mistakes and redemption, What Lies Behind is a touching and heart-wrenching account of how love and hurt can shape your life.”
First off, there was a review from Best Chick Lit, a review site from the UK. They were a new site for me to work with, and let me just say that they were completely lovely from start to finish.
“Cynthia Hill’s What Lies Behind manages to clench the stomach with emotion while prompting a reader to flip the pages to piece together the mystery of a woman’s life.”
I worked with Change the Word earlier this year, when Laura reviewed Idol Hands. I knew that she had enjoyed it, so I wasn’t sure what she would think of What Lies Behind when it is so different. Her review honestly gave me goosebumps! (And yes, in a good way!) I was thrilled when Laura named it one of her top two books for October, 2012.
“Since I had an absolute love affair with Cynthia Hill’s first book, Idol Hands, I had rather high expectations for her second book, What Lies Behind. First off, let me just say that the two books are TOTALLY different in every way, save one – I love them both!!”
Martina, of Book Drunkard, has just been insanely supportive of Idol Hands, and I admit, like with Laura, I was a bit nervous to give her something so different. I was really pleased that she enjoyed it!
Reviews of Idol Hands:
This is what I love about indie publishing: it’s been over a year since Idol Hands was released, and reviews are still coming in. In fact, there should be at least one more in 2013!
“I found myself unable to put it down; it kept demanding me to read ‘just one more chapter’.”
Mandy, from I Read Indie was really great to work with. She downloaded the book on a Tuesday, and her review was up just a few days later! As a neurotic author, that was fantastic!
“The writer did a wonderful job weaving a plot that is unexpected. I was very surprised by how it ended.”
And I just received a note about this post this morning, from Jencey of Writer’s Corner. I appreciated that she always kept me up to date on the status of the review, without my having to ask (because I never like to do that!)
Thank you so much to all of those who take the time to read and review my books! And this applies to those of you who have taken the time to put up reviews on Goodreads, Amazon, Smashwords, etc. I really do appreciate it!
